My soul is full of whispered song;
My blindness is my sight;
The shadows that I feared so long
Are all alive with light.

Dying Hymn

Around 4pm yesterday, June 20th, George passed on to the next realm of existence, joyfully greeted by those who have already moved on (both 2 and 4 legged).

We who are left behind mourn our loss but rejoice in the realization that he no longer suffers the ailments which have plagued him for so long.

A memorial service will be held at 11am on Saturday, July 9, 2011 at First English Lutheran Church in Richmond. A lunch reception will follow with a time for those of you who'd like to to share memories of George.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the First English 2011 Fund or a charity of your choosing.

Mom and I would like to thank everyone for their prayers, love and support throughout the past year and especially this last week. Dad was surrounded with love at all times be it through those that sat with him or through the endless prayers that we know were sent up for him.

Today June 13th Was a good day

George was awake and aware most of the day. He remembered people, made jokes and carried on conversations.  He also sat up and stood next to the bed 3 times today. This was the first  day that he was able to ask for food and drink. A hamburger, noodles and jello were brought to him and he ate with delight. We also talked about what was ahead. I am glad we had that talk and this day.
